Kwon Do and Omega Martial Arts. Belt Promotion
Test held in OCTOBER 2009 . Wes and Beth Gestring have served in Africa as missionaries for 20 years. They live in Mafikeng, South Africa with their ministry
focus being to the Tswana students at the Northwest University. Wes is a professor of Soil Science at the university and they both lead bible studies and
trainings for the students in a whole variety of areas, from witnessing to relationships. Their goal is to reach the students
with the gospel and help them grow in their relationship with Jesus. In addition, Wes started the “Christian Tae
Kwon Do Academy” at the university as an outreach. Wes says, “Students here are interested in martial arts
and this gives us the chance to teach it form a Christian perspective and use it as outreach and discipleship tool.”
He started the academy this past August and the class of 9 students presently meet twice a week in a squash court, but may
soon have to move because of increasing numbers. Please PRAY for them. That God will grow the class in numbers, provide
a larger space for us, and use CTKD to change the lives of our university students. |
